Saya asked Holly to continue trying to contact the freighter. After they arrived at Void Station, Holly called the crew to the bridge (this included Caleb and Thorin). A holo of Dakon played. He said that once he made his delivery on Tatooine, he'd be going to Bothawui to talk to a Senator. He said with any luck, he'd be able to get pardons for them. He said he'd be back in two days. If he wasn't, he said Captain's Protocol Trandoshan Herglic Xextos 118 would take effect. He wished them luck if that happened.
Thorin didn't seem surprised, but Saya still couldn't shake her uneasy feeling. Edee called a meeting of the "passengers" in the Habitat. Edee told them they could go down to Void Station if they wanted or remain on the ship. About six of them said they were slaves out of necessity - they owed money to the Hutts. Saya took their names, and, after verifying and re-verifying the amounts, transferred credits to the appropriate Hutts, leaving them debt-free. About 20 others were willing to leave. They were all given 5k credits and directed not to talk about the ship.
Gorn, Trolic, Raj, Kril'chik, and Kelto (the Rodian) decided to stay. They went to the conference room to explain more or less what they'd be getting into. Edee told them that the Imperials were after the ship. Kelto said, "So, I can look around all I want if I become part of the crew? I'll stay."
Trolic felt that Carrick was still young and could stand someone to look out for him. Carrick seemed pleased.
Gorn said that he had been born into slavery. He felt that he and Raj could help in the Habitat.
Kril'chik decided he'd just stick around for now as well. With that decided, they split up.
Saya set up separate computer/systems access with admin access for herself and Dakon. She also isolated the data bomb for later research. She might find a use for it at some point. She also might be able to improve on it. She also set up a search for info on the Force user ancestors of the crew. She added Gorn, Raj, Telto, Trolic, and Kril'chik to the crew roster.
Edee and Saya went down to the Habitat to talk with Gorn and Raj. When they arrived, Raj seemed deep in meditation. They talked a little about the Force. Gorn said that, before the war, he had made friends with a Jedi. He had learned healing from him, and the man had attempted to buy Gorn's freedom.
When Saya asked about midichlorians, he said that high levels wouldn't necessarily mean that the individual could use the Force but that he or she would have the potential to use it if properly trained. He also said that while it frequently ran in families, it wasn't always a certain thing. He suspected it could be a recessive gene.
Tal went to the bridge. Kril'chik was nowhere to be seen, which made her happy. That didn't last long, though, because she found her bug supply missing. She went off in search of the thief.
Corona was checking over the repair that Kelto and Carrick had made. She had to admit that it looked pretty darn good. She found where the conduit had come from. It was a secondary system - nothing vital. Kelto came up to her holding a crystalline piece. He asked her if there were any spare parts like that. Apparently, he had touched the part, which was under the desk in the conference room, while it was still on. It had left his fingertips singed.
Corona led him to the data room. Inside, she was able to find a spare. Kelto was just as fascinated with that room. She gave him the part and suggested he stop at the med bay first. He didn't think it was necessary, but she insisted. She followed him to the med bay and forced him into the goo. He was amazed to find his fingers as good as new. He then went back to replace the burnt out part.
Raj ceased his meditation. He and Edee discussed the Force. Raj's master had been called up to serve in the war. As a result, his training had never been completed. Edee told him about their experience on Ithor.
Carrick and Trolic went to see the prisoner. He said that his last master had called him Bob. He had been born a slave and never known any other kind of life. He had joined John Starshipper thinking there would be a number of them and that they could make a lot of money. He had apparently done mostly domestic work. Carrick suggested that he cook. Bob's ship access would be limited.
With Holly's help, Tal finally found Kril'chik in the passenger quarters. He had built a nest in one of the larger rooms. He told her he needed wall decorations. He said she could have 60% of the bugs in exchange. She gathered some tapestries from the yacht and took her bugs back to the bridge.
Two days passed with no word from Dakon. At Saya's insistence, Edee tried to reach Dakon through the Force. He was able to sense him briefly, but then the connection seemed to slip away. Before that had happened, he could sense just one thing from Dakon - pain.
Saya got on the Holonet to look for info on Dakon. She didn't find anything on him, but some checking on Bothawui showed that there had been a request for an Imperial patrol. Another check told them that the freighter was still on Bothawui.
While they headed for Bothawui, Corona put together a tracking device for Thorin's ship. Once there, he went to do some recon. After a bit, he contacted them. Apparently, the senator had been unimpressed with Dakon's info and called in the Imperials. It wasn't a simple patrol that had showed up. There were three star destroyers, a bunch of gunships, and some starfighters as well. The patrol ship had gone back to it's home base on Rodia. Russo had been in charge of the operation and most certainly had Dakon. He had been accompanied by a man in a dark outfit and a hood. He seemed to carry himself like a Jedi. Thorin was going to do some more checking but figured he'd be awhile.
With Edee now as captain, there didn't seem to be much to do. He thought it might be best to head to Alpheridies to find the Jedi that Gorn had spoken of. Saya, Caleb, Corona, and Carrick went to work on the scout ship.
